Running pcsx2/mac
October 18th, 2009
This is the comprehensive guide to installing and running pcsx2/mac on your mac.
The process is straightforward, let’s first install all necessary packages
- xQuartz
To run Pcsx2, you need X11 but not the one that comes with Leopard/Tiger. You can download the latest release of X11 from the XQuartz Project page. Double-click on the package to install it. - NVidia CG framework
Download the package for Mac OS X here. Mount the disk image and double-click on the installer. Follow the instruction to install the Framework. - PCSX2/mac + plugins
The latest package is always here. This will install all the necessary runtime libs and put the application bundle into your /Applications folder. The rest is as simple as double clicking it.
All troubleshooting/running questions - please ask at forums - http://forum.quant0r.com and http://forums.pcsx2.net

First of all, thank you for putting the time in to develop this emulator for a Mac!
I’ve installed the 3 programs, and when I attempt to run PCSX2 from my Applications, I get a window in X11 that shows “pcsx2.sh: line 2: ./pcsx2: Bad CPU type in executable”
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again,
Patrick

Hi Zedr0n, I cant seem to get it to work at all, it wont use the DVD drive and it wont run any ISO’s, no error, it comes up with a plain white screen. Any help would be much appreciated!
